Judy Cornelius, B.S., B.A., has been the Associate Director of the Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming at the University of Nevada, Reno since its formation in 1989. As Associate Director of the Institute, Judy provided day-to-day direction of the activities of the Institute, including responses to public information and research requests, contact with domestic and international media, as well as directing coordinating efforts for the annual Executive Development Program and coordinating gaming management curriculum and programs for the College of Business Administration. Judy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from UNR and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from UNLV. Judy retired from UNR in 2011 and volunteers and works on projects at home. Shirley Rodgers is the Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager of Nevada State Bank in Reno. In her current position she specializes in loans to small businesses. Brandon Freund Brandon serves as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Board of Directors. He is the owner of "Big Dogs Internet Marketing" and has donated his Internet expertise to maintain the RPGC's online presence as well as assisting in any Internet/technology needs the RPGC has. He graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Spanish May 2011 from the University of Nevada, Reno. Michael G. Alonso is an attorney whose practice includes gaming regulations, land use, resort hotel development and government relations. As a lobbyist, Mr. Alonso frequently represents his clients before the Nevada Legislature and local governing bodies. Actively involved in the legal community, Michael has served on the Executive Committees of the Gaming Law and Business Law Sections of the Nevada State Bar and is a member of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys. Jessica Sferrazza Jessica is a city councilwoman for the City of Reno and has served on the Board of Directors for RPGC since 2008. Jessica Sferrazza was first elected to the Ward 3 Council seat in November 2000, becoming the youngest Council Member ever elected in the City's history at age 27. Since that time, Councilwoman Sferrazza has dedicated many of her efforts to revitalizing previously neglected areas of the City, with particular attention to the Wells Avenue corridor and, more recently, the Oliver/Montello area. As a result of the Councilwoman's efforts, both have undergone a remarkable transformation under her tenure. Her dedication to the revitalization of Wells Avenue, in conjunction with her continued prioritization of strict code enforcement, has resulted in the beautification of the neighborhoods in her ward. Councilwoman Sferrazza has also actively sought to engage the City's youth in civic life, and remains committed to improving government for the citizens of Reno. Debra Robinson For the past twelve years Debra Robinson has served as General Counsel for the Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc. Monarch is a publicly traded gaming company and the owner of the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno. Debra provides legal oversight for the Company in areas such as gaming law, risk management, corporate governance, employment law, and contracts. Prior to assuming the role of general counsel, Debra was in private practice focusing on appeals and litigation. She received her juris doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law, and served as a law clerk for the Hon. Charles Springer at the Nevada Supreme Court. Joshua Woodbury Joshua Woodbury is an attorney practicing in the areas of civil litigation and employment law. He was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in 2008. He received his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University in 2004 and his J.D. degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2008. He served as a Symposium Editor for the Nevada Law Journal from 2007 to 2008 and participated in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in 2008 as a member of the Society of Advocates moot court team. Ken Templeton Ken was the first donor to the Reno Problem Gambling Center and provided a generous “seed grant” when RPGC opened in 2005. He has served on the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Problem Gambling and also as a Board Member for the Problem Gambling Center in Las Vegas. Ken is the founder and owner of The Templeton Group, a diversified group of companies that is made up of Templeton Development Corporation, Carefree Senior Living, Ken Templeton Realty and Investment, Inc., Mystic Lodge Casino, and Templeton Gaming Corporation. Ken plays an active role in overseeing all of the business operations of the company. Carol O’Hare Carol O'Hare began serving as a volunteer for the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling in 1993. She served as Secretary of the Board from 1995 to 1996, assisting in the successful restructuring of the organization and the development of the Council's first corporate membership fundraising program. In April 1996, Ms. O'Hare accepted the Council's first staff position of Executive Director. In addition to providing organizational leadership, Carol is actively involved in developing effective industry and community collaborations at both the state and national level. As a recovering compulsive gambler, Carol brings a unique insight to her work and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, training seminars and numerous public awareness and education forums. Brent Forbush Brent is the current CPA for the Reno Problem Gambling Center and joined the Advisory Board in January, 2011. He works with his father, Dan Forbush, at Forbush and Associates CPA Firm in Reno, Nevada. Brent’s email address is: email@example.com.
Greg Ferraro As president and founder of The Ferraro Group, a public relations and public affairs company, Mr. Ferraro has more than 20 years of experience working in the public affairs arena. He has worked extensively with the Nevada Resort Association, CenturyLink, NV Energy, EMPLOYERS, Frias Transportation, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, ING, JPMorgan Chase, Nevada Title Company, The Western Folklife Center, Nevada Commission on Economic Development, NextLight Renewable Energy, March of Dimes and Edgewood Companies. In December of 2008, Mr. Ferraro led a merger of his firm with Las Vegas-based impress communications which resulted in The Ferraro Group having 12 employees in offices in Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City, NV.
